I Miss You (Especially) Today

Sitting here, across the ocean
somewhat out of sync with another time and place-
it seems so strange that my heart
should swell for the wind on the tide.
But there are moments when I am here at this desk
or standing on a corner
any corner
sitting in a theatre
laughing with a beer in one hand, and suddenly

my heart is far away.

You can keep it for a while.

  2. I certainly don’t want to make you cry sister, dear! Why don’t you get some frozen chocolate dipped cheesecake on a stick and change out that plastic bag with the special contents? Go on. Get yourself moving. I love you.

  3. hhhhhhhmmmmmmmmmmmm cheesecake!! Is it better to have to replace the contents of the plastic bag or never to have had anything to put in the bag to begin with??

  4. Although I don’t live across a pond, I live far enough away from “home” that I can totally relate with this post – and it was so beautifully written.
Hope you take care of that heart of yours :)
