It’s around the corner to the right, you’ll see it.

There is nothing like giving directions to strangers that makes you feel really at home.  So far, I think I’ve been stopped about five times that I was able to point someone in the right direction.  I’m home, yo.  (Thanks, Mrs. 007, for so brilliantly reviving this old favorite.)

Words of the Day: Sponge, Fairy Cake

  • Sponge is basically cake, or the cake part of a cake.
  • Fairy Cake is a cupcake.

The Victoria Sandwich Fairy Cakes turned out very well, thank you.  I don’t know why there is no picture.  I’ll do better next time.  But they are all eaten now.  Apparently tea time at Ticketmaster was a big success this Thursday–Drew has a few more friends and may have earned some favors to be called for at some unknown point in the future.  However, I must report that there may now be a plot on the loose to keep me from ever finding a job.

We’ve gotten a heartbeat on the color guard… thank goodness for House and that defibrillator training class I took at Tennessee Oncology!  The patient may just pull through.  Regarding that explanation I implied you might get, it’s complicated.  Rehearsal space is absolutely an unfairly rationed commodity in serious shortage.  Staff changes brought about a imbalance of responsibility and an unmanageable workload.  Life also happens and unexpected twists change priorities, literally in a heartbeat.  The good news is that the network we have built is very strong.  I am so grateful for good friends and an understanding beyond words that ties us all together.  Yeah, I am talking about you.  It also gives me great hope that in this transition and through this experiment that some of my best friends (the ones coming, gone, and going for a short break) may each have the opportunity to pursue wholeness.  So much is on the horizon for the individuals at the heart of this endeavor.  It will be very special to look back later at what we learn by walking our chosen paths–even as those paths take us in different directions.

As for the wine, here is my brilliant hillbilly assessment of Blue Reef (Sauvignon Blanc): smells fruity, tastes sweet and crisp like an apple and orange had a baby and that baby got put in the bottle.  It went well with my pesto over multigrain pasta and the BBC evening news.  By the way, so sorry to hear about Britney’s baby going in to the hospital and Lindsey snogging that girl in Soho.  What would I do without that information?!  Thanks BBC.

Today, I walked off some off the energy created in the whirlwind of emotions that have been plaguing me.  Please enjoy the photos.  It’s exciting to be living in London and so gut wrenching to be so far away.  Though I have always enjoyed being needed, it sucks when your family and friends need you and you just can’t get to them.  Please continue to take care of each other.
