Two years have now gone by since we first landed in the UK. It seems like a very long time since we dragged our three suitcases across the ocean to this door in Seven Dials, but at the same time feels almost like it could have been yesterday.
It’s weird to read what had to say when we landed on 5 October 2008.
So much has happened since then that I wonder how we’ve managed to stay sane, but then I know the answer. Â We’ve never been alone. Â Drew’s been faithfully, unmovable, by my side every step along the way and I’ve done my best to keep my chin up for him. Â Our family and friends have not forgotten us. Â New friends have embraced us.
This painful, wondrous, awe-inspiring experience has been a true adventure. Â In 85 years my grandkids might be reading this journal and find inspiration here… Â I can’t help but be pretty inspired myself; we are so fortunate to have had this opportunity.
Cheers to two years!
To celebrate, my sister is on a plane to London!! Â (Thanks for sharing her Richard, Alicia, and Elizabeth! Â I know that you’ll miss her very much.)

CONGRATULATIONS on being in London for 2 years. You guys are very lucky to have each other on this wild life journey!
And have a fabulous time with your sister – looking forward to hearing about the visit!
Impressive! We’re so glad to have met y’all and been a small part of your London experience. Furthermore, it has been great to get to live there vicariously over this past year. We’re looking forward to continuing to follow your adventures in the Old Smoke or wherever life may take you.
p.s. We’ve sent you another southerner in our stead. He’s at LSE and perhaps someday when he gets his head out of the books you can meet for drinks down the pub.
