Last Monday, this dude had another ‘first’ this year.
Fortunately, Drew’s first day at Jack Morton is more of a beginning than an end… We are kind of over the endings… Â It may have taken us a while to get around to feeling positive about the new direction our flaming adventure train has taken, but I think we might be at the turning point of taking ownership.
The way I see it, we’ve experienced life changing events in the following flavors thus far in 2009:
- Devastating, indescribable, and never to be celebrated
- Indescribable, overflowing, and will be celebrated forever
- Nearly devastating, heartbreaking, and somehow still for the greater good
- Frustrating, anxiety-causing, heartburn making, rubbish – which deserves none of my energy, but gets more than I’d like to admit
- Perplexing, disheartening, and somehow still ok
- Scary and awesome
- Just plain stinking awesome
- Bittersweet
At the end of the day, this matters. Â It ALL matters. Â Every bit of it is somehow necessary. Â But on this day, out of the ashes (too dramatic?), my first date – my first love – had a first day in his first role at a global, blue-chip design agency. Â And he still came home to me.
