One year and one week into our longest and most uncommon vacation ever, Drew and I wandered down to St. Paul’s Cathedral for a peek inside. Â Unfortunately, it’s considered pretty rude to take photos in God’s house, but on God’s terrace overlooking the city, it’s totally cool. Use a coaster, though, and no shoes on the coffee table.
These three tall towers stand near our flat, being part of our little development.
God has a great view of Paternoster Square from up here.
It’s easy to feel small and lost atop this great bit of architecture with a city stretching as far as the eye can see in any direction.
Until I remember that I am not alone in this big city. (This cheeky monkey is still cute no matter how high from the ground we happen to be.)
If you know what you are looking at you can see the Millennium Bridge, Tate Modern, and The Globe Theatre.
We were a long, long way from the floor. Really. That’s a view down the hole in the makeshift floor.
Massive, beautiful, beyond comprehension, more than my heart can hold.
And we live here.
