All the sleep that I didn’t get two nights ago on the plane has started to hit me. I have giggled for the past twenty to forty-five minutes while trying to create a video for you. I am tired. I think Drew is tired. But we are tired with Visas! Yes, at approximately 10:30 am Wednesday (GMT) our visas were stamped at Immigration. Jolly good, ‘ol chap! And pip pip hooray! Or something. The delirium is apparent to you now, I am sure.
So, let’s catch up.
I got one of these here Elite status cards in the mail from Continental and I thought, “what the hey?! Let’s go to New York and get one of those Visa things…”
I mean, now that they have these little video screens in the seat, flying is kind of like an expensive afternoon of watching telly.
Continental Airlines was even kind enough to make sure I could listen to 311 while I read my book. Elite status, man, that’s what I am talking about…
We decided New York would be the best place to get one of those visa things because they have nearly same day service. You get fingerprinted one day and the embassy processes your paperwork the next day. Even when the solicitor who processed your application processed it incorrectly, there is still magic in that neon city. And I have secret powers.
Yeah, ok, maybe that’s not what saved the day. Maybe there was a credit card and a few tears fought back… Whatever. Same diff.
Moving on. We stayed at The Pod hotel. It’s called The Pod hotel because your room is much like a pod. Small. Squished. Perfect for people who need a hotel just to sleep.
As we wandered near Times Square we saw a live show being taped.
We also had a short conversation with a Teletubby. Nice. Only in New York City.
We visited the site of the World Trade Center. No words.
We walked the Brooklyn Bridge.
We even waved at the Statue of Liberty.
There’s also a video coming soon. I am just waiting on the confirmation that it is ready to post. I am such a tease.
