A New Normal

Because I have no idea how to say “thank you” to the beautiful people I work with for their generous contribution to the League for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in memory of my mom, I have spent the last several hours making muffins, oreo balls, peanut butter balls, brownies, and washing strawberries.  I would have made carrot cupcakes if I didn’t realize at the last moment that I was missing an ingredient…

Things will never be the same; we may find a new normal, but we will not go back to being the same as we were ever again.  I just wish she could know the about the love she set loose in the world.

  1. Donna, imagine being me. I am HERE stealing treats as she is making them. Probably gained 3lbs over the last two days and that is NOT and exaggeration.

  2. Those were absolutely yummy!!! I got closer today than any other time in my life (inc. Christmas) to a chocolate overdose…

  3. Yummy…wish I was there sampling your wares…what on Earth are Oreo balls. Need that recipe Jen!

  4. Yay for chocolate on Friday!!

Recipe. Hhh hhmm. (That’s me clearing my throat.)

Crush a lot of oreos. Mix oreo crumbles into 8oz package of cream cheese until you could make stiff balls with the mixture. Chill mixture for ease of shaping. Shape mixture into 1″ inch balls and place on wax paper or non-stick cookie sheet. Chill again while you melt a large chocolate bar of your favorite variety. You are welcome to add a tablespoon of Crisco for shine. Stir chocolate constantly until melted, remove from heat, allow to cool a minute and start adding balls a couple at a time. Stir them around with a fork for best coating and place them on same wax paper/cooke sheet for chilling the final time.

Eat! (Store in the fridge… IF there’s any left after the first serving.) Think of me.

  5. Drew, you looked like you are being disciplined the last time I saw you!
My idea a moderation got really distorted in the last 6 months!!
